Do any of you have actors or actresses in mind who in your humble opinions had a talent so incredibly thin and yet have managed to stretch it over a lifetime of film and television, and if so how do or did they get away with it. At the moment in television there is I feel just far to many to mention.

The clipboard is vital to continuity ; I have seen one.

It has important trigger notes written in Berol marker. The one I saw was from CITV. One example of the notes was. " Breathe in....Breathe out....Breathe In....Breathe out...."

He certainly wins the award for one dimensional character. His Henry V111 was NOT a new and exciting slant on the character, it's the only way he knows!!

I think Bill Roache has been very wise to stick with his Ken Barlow role; other soap actors who have had delusions of grandeur have soon realised how limited their supply of talent is after leaving a series and have either sunk without trace or returned to their old roles.

To my mind, thinness of talent affects the music industry far more than it does the world of the theatre. Honours galore and untold riches have been heaped on performing and composing "talents" over the last 40 years that would formerly have been hissed off the stage in amateur contests.

can I be controversial and suggest Sean Connery? To say he was the greates Bond is a rather narrow plank to build a career on and, once he became sucessful, he decided that any accent would do as long as it was Scottish.

When DickVan Dyke (another qualifier?) is correctly criticised for the Mary Poppins performance, the Irish accent by Scottish Sean in 'The Untouchables' is right up there in my view.

    However....the winner is......Eddie Murphy

Connery's best work imo is the excellent "The Offence." he's ok in The Hill also.

    cheers Ollie.

"The Offence" is a little cracker. Good performances from Connery and Bannen. No extras I'm afraid, just the film.

I agree - though he was goood in Phonebooth. I think Alexander has probably proved his limitations, likewise its director Oliver Stone. He should stick to films like Platoon,JFK.

I watched Colin Farrell in Alexander and he was lamentable, he sounded awful and looked a total fool.
