I heard that the cover of Linda Lovelace's was much worse than having a cigarette in her mouth!
A new autobiography......
Wasn't she Mrs Sean Connery?

I heard that the cover of Linda Lovelace's was much worse than having a cigarette in her mouth!
Should be an interesting read.
Weren't there some rumours of physical conflict within the Connery marriage ?
SMUDGE
She's a super lady. I did direct her in a TV play for David Susskind."Dial M for Murder". We rehearsed in New York, Then came to the UK to tape it! Great memory... John Llewellyn Moxey
Theres been a bit of press coverage to cover the Book. It was very informative as prior to that she was a bit of an enigma who turned up as a Pub Quiz Question.
Funny to hear of Sean's perpetual angst over the Hairpiece
I recently watched "Passage Home", a very early screen appearance for Patrick McGoohan. Diane Cilento was the nominal star, alongside Peter Finch and Anthony Steel. Ms. Cilento spoke in the 'Rank Charm School" accent, akin to Joan Greenwood and Fenella Fielding. In this particular movie Diane was exquisitely, porcelain-lovely. This was quite crucial to the plot, in explaining why Peter Finch's gruff old captain fell helplessly in love with her. She wasn't too bad in places, given the limitations of her character.........![]()
The stand-out performance in the movie however was British stalwart, Geoffrey Keen. He must have only been 5foot6 and had to play the tough bos'un. It is a credit to both him and the stunt arranger that you actually believed this pocketship battler could actually take out guys head and shoulders taller than him........![]()
Many happy returns Diane.

I've always been a big fan of Diane Cilento, particularly her 50s to early 60s work such as The Angel Who Pawned Her Harp, The Full Treatment and Rattle of a Simple Man. Has anyone read her autobiography, My Nine Lives? I've been thinking of buying it considering the quite eventful life she's led.

I also think she was wonderful in all the films you've just mentioned. She was also delightful in the film Tom Jones. My personal favourite film appearence of Diane's is in the film Passage Home, which I rate as one of my all-time favourites. Diane also helped out with the swimming scenes in the James Bond film You Only Live Twice.
Well done for starting a thread on this wonderful actress.![]()

Diane. Hope you're having a wonderful day. I'll be watching you later in an episode of The Persuaders! called A Death In The Family.
And later still in your Thriller episode Spell Of Evil.

My favourite image of Diane Cilento in Spell of Evil is this dramatic close-up. Unfortunately, she's
about to put a curse on Edward de Souza's Scottish housekeeper (my beloved Iris Russell):
I think she's stunning with dark hair, perhaps even more so than with blonde....?

Thanks for the screencap and the pics Cornershop and Shirl. I think Diane is just stunning whether blonde or dark.
