Now you can see why that loose button caused all the trouble in Ice Cold In Alex.

The front cover of the February 6th - 12th 1971 issue of TV Times featuring Diana Coupland and Sidney James (two of the stars of the new Comedy series Bless This House).

The strange thing about Sid James is no matter what part he plays, Carry on film or not, in what country or any time in history his character is invariably named Sid. Is there anyother actor in the history of cinama who has played so many different roles with the same forename?.

I always look forward to an appearance by Sid James - a Jewish South African who before his film career worked as a boxer and hairdresser(?). He unselfishly taught Tony Hancock screen technique when the lad himself moved into television. Just been reading the diaries of Kenneth Williams, who disliked both Sid and Tony and is scathing about their work. Strange chap, KW.
