Obviously we must be the same age as they were one of my childhood favourites along with Muffin The Mule,Billy Bunter and Whirlygig.
Does anyone the name of the Actor who played opposite Charlie Drake? No mention of anything on IMDB. I've seen him in lots of stuff, he was also in a Childrens programme called The....... Candlesticks, just cannot remember the title. Anyone?
One episode got cancelled due to an overrun at Wimbledon and I rang the BBC to complain, I was only about 8 at the time!

Bl**dy Wimbledon!![]()
A quick serach on Google brought this up.
"Mick and Montmorency" - Google Search
Mick and Montmorency tells me that it was Jack Edwardes who played Mick.
Hope this helps.
Nick
anyone got any eps of this I can just about remember watching it
This does date back to Whirligig and the actor was Jack Edwardes.
He later teamed up with Dickie Arnold in a similar style with 'Lets get together' playing characters Herlock and Sholmes. Then later in 1959 he teamed up with Felix Bowness of Hi-de-hi fame in 'Mick and Marmaduke'.
Dont remember either of these nor can I find out any more on the actor but interesting to recall those days.
Hi, If anyone is still interested, I can tell you about Jack Edwardes, as he is my brother-in-law's dad. He met Charlie Drake during the war, and was a regular "straight man" for him. After splitting up with Charlie Drake, he appeared in another UK TV show called "Jim's Inn". If was one of those shows where there was direct advertising as part of the show, (extreme product placement, I suppose) and ran until this form of advertising was barred by Parliament in 1963. He was then approached by the brewers who funded the TV show to become landlord of the Kings Arms in Frating, Essex, and so retired from showbusiness. he ran the pub for a number of years before retiring, and he died aged 88 in 2001. The pub attracted his previous showbiz pals, people like Jimmy Tarbuck and Bruce Forsyth, and my brother-in-law's highlight of his teenage years was meeting Anthea Redfern!
Jim's Inn was with Jimmy Handley, I remember the programme, a bit like today's shopping channel, slightly more subtle, only slightly.
