    AIDAN HARRINGTON..B1928..

Aidan has been in the film biz since 1952 as an extra,,stand/in,, and double.

I was talking to him this week and I got a full list of the films and tv he's worked on in his life.

I think there are over 1000 and off most of them he has kept a call sheet which must tell of some history.

I ask him if he wanted to sell them but he doesn't want to.

I'll tell you of his early films in order of years....

    1952..

    Ivanhoe

    The Pickwick Papers

    The Card

    The Story of Robin Hood

    Where's Charley ?

    Moulin Rouge

    The Crimson Pirate

    I Believe in You

    The Last Page

    The Sound Barrier

    It Started in Paradise

    Top Secret

    Hindle Wakes

    The Hour of Thirteen

    Folly to be Wise

    Potter of the Yard

    Murder Bag

    1953.......

Probably some great tales among all of those... and just in 1952, he's been in some wonderful films that have stood the test of time. Fun pictures like IVANHOE, ROBIN HOOD and CRIMSON PIRATE, heavy in costumes, probably hot and uncomfortable, with few chances to go knee-deep in mud, though...

    Chistine,,

That list (18) is just for 1952,, I have the rest of Aidan's list up to 2006..

I think the Mods might get fed up if I put the other 982 on here. (and I might get writers cramp.

    Aitch,
You could add them all to his page on the IMDb

    Hello Steve,

I don't know how to add to IMDB and I think they want proof of credits.

I don't think Aidan will lend me 1000 call sheets

I'll let the subject drop for now...

If you can get me a copy, Aitch, I'd have a go at adding them to my site at least.

(and, yes, I know, I still have a stack of your stuff to do -chagrin-)

    Aitch,

I've never been asked for proof when I've added credits before and the more you do, the easier it gets!

Steve I have just spent some time putting Aidans credits on the discussion board . on his IMDB. There are some classics on there but it's a long read.

    (Little by little)

To me, it's a gauntlet thrown, and I hope it will be a catalyst for others to do it, or seek help getting it done.

Aitch, is there any chance he's got NO stories that can top yours?!! (Frankly, if his only were half as funny as yours, I'd still have the world's cleanest screens, keyboards and desktops after each subsequent wipe-down.)

The face seems familiar, but I can't be sure.

    Steve
I just had a look at the list to see if I can do anything with it.

They are presumably all uncredited. Aiden's name didn't appear in the on-screen credits for them. The IMDb does want some sort of description of the character for uncredited entries.

If he was a double, who did he double?

If he was an extra, what sort of character did he play? Did he record that?

There is a big difference between a double or a stand-in and an extra in the IMDb. An extra will go in the cast list (with an (uncredited) attribute) but a double or a stand-in will go in the Miscellaneous crew list

Hello Paul, I was talking to Aidan a couple of weeks ago at a car boot in Herts.. He said he's got a bit of a bad back. But he looks well. I do remember meeting his brother years ago

Aidan comes from a large family 5 brothers(my dad Leo being one of them)and two sisters. When I was a kid in primary school (about1961) I tried to impress my classmates by telling them my uncle was a film star. They said "What's 'is name.": "Aidan Harrington"I replied. "Never 'eard of 'im" was the response. However if I was a kid nowadays I'd say just look him on the internet. I was quite impressed by your website as it does furnish one with a lot of information.

I would still like to get a full list of all the films he has appeared in, and if you can find out that would be great. The alternative is that I could always ask him, but that would spoil the fun of it. I would like to surprise him.My e-mail address is mrpharrington@hotmail .com
