Oh no, don't get Christine interested in Sir Alfred....she'll fall on those Public Eye DVD's, marvel at one of the great performances in detective dramas, one of the best drama series this country produced....and then, after two series released, nothing more is available....getting Christine involved is just plain cruel...

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

But there's always TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED 'The Flypaper' thereafter - or his film roles. She'll just have to be like the rest of us and eke out those EYES. Even then they're always worth a re-visit...

A friend who used to know Gough described him as very intelligent, which I think comes across in his performances. He does some great work in DRACULA -- clutching his head in sympathy when his fiancee is branded with a crucifix, clutching his chest when she's staked. I doubt that was scripted that way, i bet he thought it up.

(Most of the best physical business in that film seems to be the work of the actors, cf Cushing's contribution to the climax.)

I know - but the gap between SPECIAL BRANCH releases, and that rather unheralded plonking out of Derren eps, gives a tiny sliver of hope. Until then it's those wobbly UKNOVAs....

It's a good job Mr Burke only played this guy on stage, ... think of how many more DVDs we'd have to get if he'd done it on TV ...

Bats.
