On a point of information Red River was made by Howard Hawks in 1948.It was produced by the Charles Feldamn group and released by United Artists.It therefore had no apparent connection with RKO whatsoever.

Why do people so much wish to rubbish even the most banal of facts ?



As I have said, my mother was suspended by RKO. Within the Hollywood system, this permitted her to be "loaned" to other studios !

if you want to be so otally rude when your "facts" are queried why dont you inhabit some other site,and leave us to discuss our banal facts amongst ourselves.

I can't actually concede that I was "totally rude", as you put it, but you are quite right other than that, since my thread did originally invite denial or corroboration, and all you were doing was responding to my request. The trouble is that both yourself and one or two like minded members have been so dismissive of virtually anything I say, that it is hard not to become excessively sensitive and defensive. As for your comment that I should vacate the site and leave you to discuss your "banal facts" with others, you make yourself appear to be very proprietorial of this site and I don' t actually feel that is either correct or proper, since you are no more entitled to use the facility of this Forum than I am. Might I make a helpful suggestion ? Since most of what I say seems to aggravate you,why don't you just cease to either read or submit messages on this thread ? I am sure that there must be much more here in the Forum that is likely to appeal to you.

I have just watched `The passionate friends` and wondering why David Lean thinks that every woman who feels a tad upset by the treatment of Trevor Howard would try to throw herself in front of a moving train?



So, my question is, is Trevor Howard really that bad to women they become suicidal (funnily enough by using the same method in every film) or am I just being a silly woman ?
