I've wondered what happened to Ken also......thought he was great in 'Sweeney 2', and 'Straw dogs', just checked IMDB and nothing since '99, though I recall just a few years ago when 'Straw dogs' was about to be released on DVD he was interviewed sitting in a Pub talking about the Movie, and I recall him saying that he was RADA trained.

This on Ken's IMDB page in the 'forum' section ....

"I'd love to know where IMDB got the year of birth 1948 from. I have much of Ken's seventies output on DVD including Straw Dogs (1971) Deadly Strangers (1974) and Sweeney 2 (1977) and certainly in the latter two he appears to be aged around forty, not twenty five! Some private investigation reveals a more plausible birth date of December 1935, which would fit with his last TV appearance in 1999 and the retirement age of 65."

He can't be that old surely ? He's very fresh faced in Straw Dogs so I think 1948 sounds about right. He seems to have disappeared without a trace. On the IMDB forum there's also a message saying that he lives a quiet life in London, but that was written in 2004. I'd love to know which pub he drinks in , I would gladly buy him a few of his favourite tipples.

    What a dude !

Ken is fit and well and as dapper as ever. He was last seen in The Duke of Hamilton pub in Hampstead a couple of weeks ago, watching Scotland play rugby and giving several renditions of "Flower of Scotland" He pops in every couple of months.

I first saw him in "Just a Boy's Game" with Frankie Miller, he was absolutely fantastic, been a fan of him ever since.

I'm still trying to place him. I found this picture on the net taken from Space 1999 in 1977 which was have made him 29 if born in 1948 (reasonable) and 42 if born in 1935.

No, didn't go to RADA -- rather disparages acting colleges, in fact. Trained under John Neville at the Nottingham Playhouse in the 60s.

Birthday 22 November 1942, so coming up to 67.

He actually toured for a year as Arthur in Camelot. Funnily enough, a lot of people used to think he was Richard Harris, who played the role on film.

    Eastbourne, last I heard!

I have a fairly recent photo (2004) but can't see how to upload it, since it's not a web image.

In the last couple of days I found out that Ken Hutchison does odd jobs in the block of flats I live in in Stoke Newington, North London. I have met Ken a few times while passing him on the block's stairwell or in the communal garden but I hadn't realised who he was. He certainly looks well. The next time I see him I will pass on the good wishes from fellow Britmovie members.

Please do Remy, and tell him there are people who are concerned and wondering where he is, Sweeney 2 is one of my all time fave films of the 70's and John and Dennis seem more like extras alongside Ken who's the real star of the show.
