I have recently become a very big admirer of Sally Gray. The first time you ever come across this Actress, her appeal is instant. I remember watching ' Obsession' 1949 with Robert Newton and I did find her performance excellent. This was also her last but one film. Three years later she went on to make ' Escape Route' 1952 before taking a final bow to her Audience.

At the tender age of 36 years of age, Sally would never grace the Silver screen again.

I really do think was a shame and leaves myself with the thought of what might have been.

Obsession, in my opinion is really memorable for Robert Newton but the Sally Gray attraction was there for all to see and admirer.

Of the 28 films she starred in per IMDB, many films are enjoyable from the Early Dance roles, of the Stanley Lupino films, well worth watching, to ' The Mark of Cain' 1947 role with Eric Portman, with the part of the adorable Sarah Bonheur.

I think her appeal will last for a very long time to come. For those who are not familiar with this star, then now is a good time to acquaint yourself with a true great.

She was very good in The Mark of Cain and especially Silent Dust. Sally suffered from ill health which kept her off screen for a while in the 40s. She married a Lord in 1951 and retired to enjoy her new life. Good for her!

One of the iconic actresses of the 1940s. Green for Danger and They Made Me A Fugitive are two more of her signature performances.

One of my all time favourites.

She left film too early, especially as she was off screen for five years, when she was at her peak.

Two others in which sh was good; A WINDOW IN LONDON and DAMGEROUS MOONLIGHT.

A great lady of the British screen. Along with Phyllis Calvert and Patricia Roc

    I just love her!

She was breathtakingly beautiful and a very good actress - she is excellent in Obsession - all cold and brittle which was in stark contrast to her character in Mark of Cain where she is soft and vulnerable.
