Roy Scheider was one of the those people who looked as though they'd live forever, always very lean and fit, even as he got older, but I guess not. He was a great actor and Jaws is still the scariest film I've ever seen.

    RIP Roy.

Regarding questioning the British film connection, you are right because what constitutes a British film? Whether it was made in the UK with US money or made in the US with UK money etc?

I suppose a very tenuous link would be his role in 2010 (his appearance made it at least watchable) which was the sequel to 2001 which was made at Pinewood studios. There you go - we can safely justify Roy's inclusion to Britmovie!!!

It's a long running debate, and problem.

Some people go with the nationality of the main production company, some go with the country most of the money came from (not always the same as the nationality of the production company), some go with the nationality (or country of residence) of the director, some go with the nationality of the majority of the cast or crew. There is no one easy definition for something like a film that is often a multinational collaboration.

The IMDb defines the country of a title as the place or places where the production companies for that title are based, and therefore where the financing originated. This means, for example, even if a title is shot on location in France, if its production companies are all based in the USA, they record the country as USA.

If a title is a multi-country production, the order the countries are entered into the addition/update forms is significant and will be reflected in the display order within IMDb.
