name='samkydd']As with most areas of entertainment these days, it would appear that 21st century "stars" are little more than watered down and characterless pale imitatations of those who went before!

I've just switched off the Brucie birthday bash on TV, it was embarassing. The new generation of TV presenters have made it a very cringeworthy awkward affair indeed, in particular Jonathon Ross who just won't shut the f*** up! Although Ronnie Corbett was almost as embarassing. An awful tribute to the man, and he looked uncomfortable to say the least!

My weekly does of the Antiques Roadshow was removed for this tripe which did little to improve my mood. They could have combined the two and had Brucie's Antiques Roadshow which might well have been more interesting.

I bet Bruce thought "Fifty years in television and this is all the tossers can come up with?" They should've let him present the show on his own then at least it would have been done properly!I bet it was cobbled together by some BBC executive's trainee producer daughter called Nikkkki or Jaquuuiiii or Katttttt!

That might have been a nice idea. He could have introduced his own old clips. I would guess though that he enjoyed the show as it was; it would have made him feel contemporary, rather than a relic. I guess if you're still working at 80, it's because you crave the applause even more than the plaudits.

Jools Holland was a remarkably dreadful 'straight man'wasn't he. I could almost see his eyes moving as he read his lines in his imagination.......

Brucie popped up on a BBC repeat about Light Entertainment later last night. He commented that the highs in his business were great...... but the lows could be dreadful, and there tended to be more of them.
