I'm sure I was reading about her just the other day. I think there was a photo of her. She's in something or other currently, I'm sure.

What ever happened to Adrienne Posta she was a regular fixture of stage and screen in the sixtied and seventies.

She's an acting teacher at a theatre school in London.
I'm sure I saw her recently in one of those old BT ads of Maureen Lipman's playing her daughter or daughter in law. She looked great and, of course, she was terrific when in her prime.![]()
BT 'Beattie - Directory Enquiries' TV ad - 60 secs
Yes, here she is in "Directory Enquiries"! Don't know the date, though.
LOL!.......I loved 'Beatties' ads too!.......I'd guess late 80's early 90's for the Adrienne ones, I also recall the ad when Adrienne is on the Phone demanding a Cake "today, not yesterday"!, then the whole family are gathered (including Bernard Bresslaw) to surprise Beatty on her Birthday, she's touched then blows her Nose!Originally Posted by cully

(For Trivia fans the Cinema is Barnet Odeon, it was used in 'Buster' too!)
Mark, what I should have done I've just realized is post the URL for the page on Tellyads where ALL ( I think) the Beattie ads are. Here it is.

Thank you once again Cully!.........I didn't realise there were so many!
Eighty pounds for an Answering machine back then though!........Times certainly change!![]()
I saw Adrienne Posta in the ex channel five soap "Family Affairs" playing Jemma Walker's character's mother about 8 or 9 years ago.
I just watched her in 'Out' the first episode of Budgie, playing a fifteen year old stripper, the property of one Charlie Endell....top stuff!
Adrienne now does a lot of charity work and is a patron of the Counrtyside Training Trust. Here is a link to a recent photograph of her giving out achievement certificates:

She is teaching "Acting for Camera" at a Performing Arts school in London
She was obsessed with crisps as well, which Charlie thought were responsible for her spotty arse.Originally Posted by Caine

(To Budgie's girlfriend Hazel, a bit-part actress): "Do you know Albert Finney?"
Looks a little like Lulu in the Sixties. And now both are in their Sixties, each born in 1948.
She was also a credible singer and recorded (as Adrienne Poster) a few singles for Andrew Loog Oldham in the 60's. She also sings the endearing Cruisin' Casanova (from Adventures Of A Taxi Driver).
Vocally most people will remember her as the uncredited singer of Johnny Reggae (with the Piglets).
Makes me feel old when i see someone who i lusted after in her youth look more like a grannie.tepus fugit.
That is extraordinary. I never knew that. I love this novelty record and always thought the girl sounded like Wendy Richard as there is a similarity to her contributions to Come Outside. Thanks for the information. Johnny Reggae was a hit the same year Adrienne appeared in that episode of Budgie.Originally Posted by vincenzo
I saw Adrienne on stage in both Piaf and The Seven Year Itch. She was excellent.
Some references (including producer Jonathan King) say that it was actually Barbara Kay on lead vocals, though others tend to favour Posta, due to her previous vocal history. It's always been a source of some debate.Originally Posted by cornershop15
I still have the old 45 of this (on the Bell label) and it's a quirky, and also quite risque, little ditty. Very typical of its time and its producer.
