The problem with Ricky Gervais is that there is too much David Brent and Andy Millman in him and he's not really acting, just playing himself if he was to be in those situations.

yes, could nt work out wot was going on at the diana concert

I thought, is this all part of the routine ?

but he was dying a death

he was too casual, he should have had some fall back

material ready ( if he was a true pro )

    it was all total crap

But Ricky goes on from strength to strength, he ll soon

be ruling Hollywood, he s a cheeky chapee,

    a more hip Benny Hill..

he s on his way to the very top !

I have been reliably informed by other sources that it was the worst episode of The Simpsons. I watched him in A Night At The Museum and he was wooden.

Well that's what he always claims - and he's still managing to fool some people into believing him

Methinks the protestations as to the validity of Mr.Gervais's talents are rooted in the similarities that the irked percieve between themselves and the pointed characters that he lampoons.

Hardly surprising if you possess a Brentian countenance.

How can anyone be bothered to REALLY let the world know their disapproval of something as inconsequential as a comedian?

    Resentment is a sour thing.

....I'd just like to add that I myself am the proud owner of a fully-fledged Brentian counternence.

What I object to is his self-publicity, claiming to be the best thing in British comedy - ever.

And what I object to even more is the way that a lot of reviewers believed him

I just like to point out that the Emperor has no clothes

Steve.....1. I think you are not getting the HEAVY postmodern irony.

    2. One should always allow for the possibility that the ambrosia of his talents are still

incarnate even though they seem to have flown straight over your head.

    3. If you object to a reviewer having the opinion that he's "the best thing" then i

logically follows that you object to ANYBODY having that view. I can not percieve as

to what it must take to have an objection over another persons opinion. Why not

turn that objection into an enquiry ? You never know how many wonderful

educational and insightful things could be revealed.

    4. If you have any photos of Ricky sans clothes PLEASE let me know.

    Regards

    Fred
