Go on ask and tell us all the answer.
Doc, keep it simple. Go up to her and say politely "Aren't you the famous actress, Angela Douglas"?Originally Posted by DocRobertPepper

Glide up to her. Don't make any sudden moves or she might think you're a serial killer/pervert/the chap who really got poor Jill Dando etc...
Good luck.
PS Don't forget to have at your fingertips some really good performances she gave in case she asks what you've seen her in!
PPS DON'T confuse her with Jacki Piper!
She's lover-lee yer Angela!!

Didnt old Kenneth put his bits in ice to try and have a baby with Angela, seems daft place to put it, someone should have told the man.
I don't know if this helps but her husband Kenneth More's death in 1982 was registered in Fulham, she may still live there.

Regarding Angela Douglas....this morning on "bigl" the DJ Mike Read played "Some People" by Carol Dean from 1962. I emailed him and he read my email on air asking her to contact me on my email address as I had my first hot crush on her, and saw her movie "Some People" about 5 times. It was on the set of course that she met Kenneth Moore, a lovely man, whom as everybody knows she married.
I now live in Almeria Spain, and would just love to meet Angela....so if she, or anybody else is able to help me in my quest I shall eternally be thankful to you.

Join the Queue. You probably already know this, but Some People was sung in the film by Valerie Mountain with a backing group called The Eagles a band which Ron Grainer had taken under his wing and got a few breaks for. Carol Deene's recording though is good and IMHO better than the original.Originally Posted by barrie wilson
I actually went to a small private school in Ealing with Angela way back in the early 50's when she was a child actress. There were quite a few young film & TV stars there at the time - including Anthony Valentine. Haven't had the chance to speak to any of them for over 50 years. As I recall, her previous school had been in Brighton.
I don't think Angela ever remarried, even though she was still a young woman when Kenneth More died
I remember her as Annie Oakley in Carry-On Cowboy and as Jim Dale's love interest in Digby; The Biggest Dog In The World
This thread needs a lift ...
Does anyone rememer this sitcom? Not to be confused with the Terry Scott-June Whitfield series, it had some fantastic guest stars:
One of the names missing from that illustrious list - Angela Douglas. Yes, the appearance mentioned in that article is not among her credits at IMDB. I must change that.
Always on the look out for forgotten Armchair Theatre productions, I've just discovered Angela was part of this exciting cast:
well when she was married to kenneth they did lives in Gerrards Cross

which is in Bucks
Both of the programmes featured are lost, unfortunately, but these are still worth posting I think:
TVTimes article, 7 - 13 May 1961
Angela and the lesser-known Pauline Shepherd (the younger sister of Elizabeth?) had something
else in common besides appearing in that week's episode of The Avengers - Dance with Death:
Two winners - from bookies!
(from John Gough's Looking Around column)
Two young actresses I talked to are both daughters of bookmakers and both have been given parts in The Avengers series. They are 22-year-old Pauline Shepherd and 20-year-old Angela Douglas.
Pauline told me: "I have never helped my father in his business, but I have brought him a few clients. They're great punters in show business, you know." She has been a dancer and fashion model. Her latest enterprise is to start work on a film script. "It's a comedy, " she said. "But it won't be ready for years."
Angela Douglas told me: "My father gives me tips - but the horses never win."
What was the script Pauline was writing? Later that year, before apparently disappearing from our screens, she was one of the main stars of Home Tonight, a short-lived drama serial starring David Hemmings and Patricia Brake. More on this at the latter's thread soon.

I don't think that Pauline was Elizabeth's sister, but she did start her career as a singer.
She recorded several tracks in the 1950s, which are still available on compilation albums.
She was one of the entrants in the competition to represent Britain in the 1957 Eurovision Song Contest. However, she lost out to Patricia Bredin.
Pauline obviously turned to acting for a while, but after that? I did find that a singer called Pauline Shepherd temporarily joined the Birmingham-based blues band The Chads in 1964, but whether that was the same lady I don't know.
E.
Thank you for your information. Elizabeth Shepherd would have been around 25 at the time "22-year-old" Pauline was in The Avengers so it occured to me they might be sisters. I'm sure I will find out more about both actresses from other TVTimes issues.
I was halfway through compiling the first part of Angela's TV archive details ('Good News, Bad News') during that post but fell asleep and decided to add that second preview instead. Is there a 'Save for later' option here, like they have at the Internet Movie Database?
