A good actress and one of those women that shouldn't be sexy but always was. When I was a teenager she was very much a 'marmite' girl, you either loved her or hated her (in the hot totty sense). I'd love to see her on stage.

She was a super Lady Bracknell on stage and I agree completely about Hay Fever - sometimes it doesn't have the wit it should but she made it shine (as did Belinda Lang recently, but then she is another Coward specialist well worth watching).

I watched the West End performance of 'The Killing Of Sister George' Oct' 2011 and she was superb as the BBC exec: Mrs. Mercy (Croft)-very much like the cut glass accent, and demeanour of Ms. Penelope Keith!

That's true, I always thought she was incredibly sexy and is a very attractive lady to this day. My mates all seemed to prefer Felicity Kendall back in the 70's but Barbara was just way too tomboyish for me and FK herself too impish.
