I agree. This is a real mystery because you'd have thought her triumph in Lipstick would have led to lots of opportunities whereas it just led to the odd appearance in legit series plus a few porn films. What a waste!

I might be wrong, but I thought the porn films came first. As it were. Certainly her top shelf career started well before her acting career....illegally so.

She started her career as a topless model at 15 causing IIRC an edition of Mayfair to be recalled. The 'porn' films surfaced years after she'd made them to cash in on her success in Lipstick... and effectively ruined her career.

Ah, that does rather explain it!

Oh, for the days of !940's Hollywood when these sort of things were neatly swept under the carpet and no questions asked..

    hi

just want to correct you on your idea of louise germaine or of what you think you know?

Louise germaine did the soft porn from the age of 15 in mayfair magazine, only once at that time.

At the age of 18 to 19 she starred in a couple of soft porn work(page 3 stuff] which she was exploited at the time by the people around at that time .

She came from a very hard upbringing and to this work she was encouraged by her mother because of the money aspects.

But she saw sense, and stopped doing the soft porn.

As to correct you on your misguided idea of her , she did lipstick after the soft porn , and in no-way did she use that part of her live to enhance her filming career.

As for now she has 4 children and lives in the country with me.

Thanks, factsright, for repeating what we had already posted regarding Louise's career.

Give her our regards, as I think she deserved better; she was particularly affecting in Sharpe, and Lipstick. Perhaps being quite so beautiful disguised, for some, the talent she possesses.

Long may she be happy, whatever she chooses to do in the future.

Excellent to know she is well! Please pass on our best wishes. She was very good in Lipstick, the only show I ever saw her in.

HI yes as i was a huge fan of Lousie Germaine at the time the series "Lipstick on your Collar" was first shown i remember that Louise got married and had a baby and i sort of recall it being mentioned she kind of retired from acting too concertrate on her family in the 1990s etc which was a big loss all round as she was being hailed as i remember it as the UK's next big up and coming star.

NO one actually uses porn as a stepping stone. I know her personally albeit havent spoken in years. We never spoke much of the issue of her past career with the exception of what was going on at the time. She got swooped up by one agent after Lipstick and they just didnt push her career as they should have. Makes me angry how an agent will do that. She was inspiring to me as an actress and I just enjoyed being with her and am happy to hear she has more children. She was a great mother to Daisy and she is capable of such huge love.

So thank you for defending her. She has a good husband, a good man. Tell her Lancelot says hello and send her my love. Id write but her old mac mail address no longer works and I tire of going through agents just to say hello. Oh yea, tell her I have a beautiful son to date who is incredibly awesome. I get to be a dad now and Im loving it.

Delighted to read about Louise - and genuine best wishes to her from someone who thought her role in "Lipstick" was brilliant. Have often wondered what happened to her next. So pleased to know she is well.
Have you all seen the 1999 video short "When the Sun goes in", with Louise, Daniel P Gillingwater and the Sloane Square Syncopators and - believe it or not - Spike Milligan? Look for it on YouTube if you haven't seen it - it's a real gem.

My daughter caught a glimpse of her in Lipstick and said, "Wow! That's the most beautiful woman in the world! Does she do princess movies?" I chuckled. Louise Germaine's beauty was stunning to just about anyone. I remember reading in an old interview that she was slated to play the main part in Karaoke and Cold Lazarus but they passed her up because she was pregnant. It was their loss. Personally, I think she would've been brilliant!! Roles like that and Lipstick were made for her. Would've loved to see her in more work!

I agree, she looks stunningly beautiful in a 50s-style glamour way. First saw her in Lipstick on Your Collar and then the very raunchy Midnight Movie. As a fan of Jenny Agutter it was delightful to see both of them together in the Bramwell episode Loose Women (which I still have on an old VHS tape). She didn't have a massive range (admittedly, her accent would have limited her, as she has it in all the roles I've seen her in), but that hasn't deterred other actors, and I would have liked to have seen more film and TV work from her.

As for her 'porn' films, before anyone gets the wrong impression, they were strictly soft, mens magazine style stuff (she had been a 'glamour' model since age 15), definitely not hard-core. Apparently she still models, for clothing catalogues etc. Enjoy the picture.
