Has anyone heard of, in any context Mollie Hare?
It/they could be a euphemism and I'm too innocent to know.![]()

I know it was a joke but.....
Moliere may not be that far of the mark, if only there were inverted commas.

Could it be a mishearing of Molière?
Steve
'Mollie Hare', put a very 'loving' In Memorium notice in The Stage some years ago. I suppose it could have been phoned in and have been misheard. I'm more inclined to think it was either a) Ms Mollie Hare or b) a 'Mr' something disguising their identity............![]()
There was a Mollie Hare who appeared in a play by Hugh Hastings called the Inner Circle, reviewed in the Guardian on Feb 14th 1952. She appears to have been playing an Irish character.
Trivia fans might want to note that Hugh Hastings was one of the chaps in the second row in Dad's Army.
I've also found a reference to Molly Hare being the patient who is carried into the hospital in the title sequence of Emergency Ward 10.
