Found the Britmovie site when searching for some of the old time greats in British Cinema.

I read a lot of newspapers magazines on a daily basis with the usual rubbish of the so called stars of today, and I find it so annoying when all we get is Britney Paris Madonna

where have all the classy actors gone?.Trying to get information on anyone else draws a blank.

A conversation started with "The female stars of today they all look the same"

you never confused Vivien Leigh. Vaness Redgrave. Helen Mirren.Judy Dench.

    wiith anyone.

Looking forward to other points of view in the future Happy to be here, this should get the brain working again

    Depends how you define it.

I think Johnny Depp's a class act for always picking challenging roles. Same for George Clooney. Edward Norton is always interesting, as is Robert Carlyle, Kenny Branagh and Phillip Seymore Hoffman.

Julianne Moore, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Miranda Richardson are all very classy (and beautiful) actors.

The problem is, there is so much media hype around certain sectors, that we lose sight of the 'quiet achievers'.

They're out there if you look.

I though the question was about 'classy' actors and actresses, which I took to mean those who add poise, dignity and grace to their craft.

Must it always decend into a 'bikini babefest'?

I know what you mean aherd, I think there is a difference between actors/actresses and celebrity these days.

You don`t have to be talented to be celeb

Yes faginsgirl, there was an air of mystery not so manyyears ago, regarding image, even though it was often misguided...The studio heads America/Britain protected their stable of stars to a point where behind the scenes you would have been shocked at what really went on.

Perhaps today we are more honest about what people do and say even if we don't like it.

Here in Melbourne we don't get much in depth news about the British Film/Stage unless you go and purchase British magazines. All you seem to get is the same old American wannabees.
