There was a character in Cloppa Castle who reminded me of Paul Daniels.

I know he has his critics,but he was a good magician and he had strong ratings on a Saturday night. A Teesside lad done good.

I met him a couple of times, on both occasions in restaurants. Once when I was working as a chef (resting again) and I cooked him a meal. He came in on his own and was very pleasant and courteous to both staff and other patrons. A couple of days later I found myself behind him in the queue in a small cafe/restaurant. He remembered me and we had a brief chat. He seemed to me to be a very nice bloke.
