Anyone know what became of her? She played the teenage daughter in Beryl's Lot, & around the same time was splendidly topless in Assassin, playing opposite Ian Hendry, and in Superbitch.

I used to have a 'thing' about her when she was in 'Beryl's Lot'.

Are there any surviving episodes out there?

I've got Super Bitch, Chato's Land, an episode of Target & That'll be the Day.

Evidently 'Assassin' has disappeared off the face of the earth

Verna Harvey also appeared in "Assassin" as Ian Hendry's girlfriend. She had a nice topless scene too. The trouble is it's never been available on video or DVD. One of my favourite actors Mike Pratt is also an assassin in that film as well as Ian Hendry.

Funnily enough, that's about the only scene I can remember from the film when I say it on TV donkeys years ago. I'd love to see them... er...it again!

Verna was very good in Michael Winner's The Nightcomers with Marlon Brando.

Back when I was a spotty teenager I fell madly in lust with this blue-eyed, blond actress. She was in a soapy drama called 'Beryl's Lot', along with Carmel McSharry, Robin Aswith and (I think) Tony Caunter.

Subsequently I tracked her down in an episode of 'Target' and (as a juvenile) in 'The Nightcomers'. I heard she had done a film with Ian Hendry called 'Assassin', but have never seen it & can't find a copy anywhere.

Does anyone know what became of her?

    LITTLE MISS INNOCENT

    IT'S six years since

    Verna Harvey was

    thirteen. And she has

    developed nicely as an

    actress as time has

    gone by.

    But movie men keep

    c a s t i n g her as a

    thirteen - y e a r - o i d

    innocent.

    Verna has just

    finished work in Spain

    on her latest little-girl

    role.

    Now she's back

    home in B a n s t e a d,

    Surrey—wondering if

    a n y o n e is casting

    around for a curvy,

    grown-up, nineteen year-

    old girl.

    ~Daily Mirror, July 02, 1971

    Lucky 13 for Verna

    VERNA HARVEY,

    who plays Rosie, a

    highly moral young lady,

    in tonight's BERYL'S

    LOT (ITV, 8.30, most

    regions) has done well out

    of her little-girl looks.

    Though she is twenty-one

    she still gets parts

    which require her'to

    look like a schoolgirl.

    In two films—" The

    Nightcomers," with

    Marlon Brando, and

    " Chato's Land "—she

    appeared as a 13-year-old.

    The daughter of a

    Surrey doctor, Verna

    made her acting debut

    at the Mermaid Theatre

    in London at the age

    of thirteen. Her lucky

    age, it seems.

Rather strange that pitters should start three threads for Verna Harvey Two of them in just three months!

This is a publicity photo for Beryl's Lot:

I think that's the only smilie that looks different after one of those forum changes. If memory serves, the original generic smilies had 'big grin' and you had to go through the whole list to find the identical (and more durable) 'thumbsup'.

My guess is that Verna is alive and well and living in the States!

    The first clue comes here:

    Verna Harvey Gindoff | LinkedIn

This lady says that she was educated at the Arts Educational Trust, London, England. A 1966 edition of Spotlight does indeed state that that is where our Verna was educated.

I've across comments by Verna Harvey Gindoff on various websites that confirm she is British-born.

Then there's the visual clues of pictures taken of VHG in recent times:

I think that could definitely be our Verna in later years.

VHG refers to her husband as 'Bryan'. I'm guessing this may be him:

    Bryan Gindoff - IMDb

It appears that Verna lives in Austin, Texas now.

But as they say at the end of mystery stories - "Readers must decide for themselves"!

For me, puzzles have to be solved - especially ones such as these - so I dared to e-mail the lady at her Linked-in profile. I'll let you know if I fall flat on my face...
