Last seen as Maxine's mum in Coronation Street
One of the great lookers of the 1970s and one of my hotties, but whatever happened to her?

Last seen as Maxine's mum in Coronation Street
Prunella Gee was very good in Coronation Street, but disappointingly, she wasn't given anything to do after 'daughter' Maxine's death (which begs the question 'Whatever happened to Tracy Shaw?') and there've been no screen appearances since apparently. Not even the usual Casualty or The Bill! Prunella was also excellent in The Sweeney episode Cover Story.

Tracey Shaw has had serious health issues - anorexia - and she also has two pre-school age children who presumably keep her busy.

I remember seeing a photo of her, modelling for a KwikSave (are they still going?) promotion. There was concern about her then.

Yes she was also good in the sci-fi series "Kinvig." Liked her in "The Sweeney" episode, poor old Jack Regan certainly fell for her charms and who wouldn't? She was also pretty good in the Hammer House of Horror, "Witching Hour" I think it was called along with Patricia Quinn (Magenta from the Rocky Horror)![]()
And as the sexy physio in Never Say Never Again. What was that excellent series she was in ... Shabby Tiger?
Edit: Yes it was .... LINK: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0161191/

Kinvig is something I've never seen but have discovered more about on Wikipedia and customer reviews on Amazon, where I might just buy the DVD (when it's a little cheaper). I'm interested in how she worked with the prolific Tony Haygarth who was in forgotten sitcom Rosie about the same time. Here is how Prunella appeared in Kinvig (I don't know what to think) ...

I am sure there was an article when Kinvig was first being made where prunella described how her costume had to be moulded onto her.....The things some folks had to do huh?...![]()
I saw the lovely Prunella last night, scantily clad, in Hammer House of Horror - Witching Time.

On The Sweeney DVD boxset she gives an introduction to this episode.
IMO she looks more attractive these days than she did in the mid 1970s.
She did have the female lead in a movie with Michael Caine, set in South Africa, called The Wilby Cospiracy. The film also starred Sidney Poitier, so she was in good comapany, looking like a potential movie star. She played Poiter's lawyer, who took a punch in the body after trying to stop the police beating up her client. Boyfriend Caine steps into help, which meant they were on the run. However, I don't remember what, but though I don't remember, there was more to the film than racisim

I'll go along with that![]()

ive just bought that dvd from the networks sale ,i quite enjoyed this show when it was originally shown but i havent enjoyed it as much as i thought i would when i watched it again after all these years .
it just seems to be about some deluded nutters ,tony haygarth and colin jeavon ,who imagine ordinary people are spacemen from the planet mercury in disguise .
mind you ,the fantasy sequences with prunella in skimpy spacegirls outfits made up a bit for my disappointment![]()
I know her sister quite well and there is a very strong physical likeness.

Thanks for the recommendation - sounds right up my street:-)
It was all happening for Prunella at the time this article was published: a guest role, that week,
in The Sweeney, and a film with Michael Caine and Sidney Poitier, The Wilby Conspiracy:
Haven't seen her since she left Coronation Street, years ago, but hope to catch up with her
earlier work if I can buy Shabby Tiger and Kinvig, both now available on DVD, at a good price.

A short from 1998, directed by Tim Newton with the lovely Prunella.![]()
I think she was/is a very good actress! I've liked her ever since seeing her in that James Bond movie and her episode of Hammer House Of Horror.
I've recently discovered the early 80s sitcom Kinvig where she plays Mrs. Griffin and really enjoy the series.
I found out from this website: Home - Prunella Gee that she has been cast as Edna, the barber's wife in a new drama from Citizen's Band Productions called Trimming Pablo. Acting alongside Paul Freeman and Jeff Rawle, it is to be released later this year :)
