I've looked up a few stage actresses over the years.

What's the name of the actress you are referring to coonsanders?

    This Monti Ryan?

Circa 1928/29: Monti Ryan as a fortune teller in the play 'The Show's The Thing' at the Victoria Palace Theatre.

Judging from newspaper listings she was a singer/dancer more than an actress with quite a few radio credits to her name and a steam television appearances back in 1933.

There's a very good book called London Stage a Calendar of Plays and Players various volumes from 1890's-1959 by J.P. Wearing published by Scarecrow Press Metuche, N.J. & London 1982. I would think a large reference library should have copies.
