Well, both Kevin Moreton and Darren Burn certainly had their fifteen minutes of fame in the early 1970's, but it didn't seem to be on the cards for them to make it in the business as adults, while it seemed to be definitely on the cards for Dennis Waterman. Fate, if you believe in it, is a strange thing. Take me, for instance. Although it was definitely not apparent when I was a little boy, unlike all my young pals and schoolmates, it was never going to be on the cards for me to find someone to love me or get married or have any children or grandchildren. Try as I did, I hit the proverbial brick wall at every turn of the road. Fight against my fate; try harder and the result would have been the same. It's almost as though your life is pre-determined and there's nothing you can do to alter any of it. I feel sure that if Dennis Waterman had been in such a position as that, he would have faded from the scene when he was a 12 year old fifty years ago,
BELOW: The cover of TV Times dated May 11th to May 17th, 1974, introducing the start of the second series of Sam. Obviously, the magazine is too big for my scanner, hence the cropping on the top and right hand side. But I made sure I got the part of it with Kevin Moreton on.
The theme tune from SAM.
I`ve sent Kevin a message to tell him about this thread.

Paperback tie-in of the Sam series with Kevin Moreton cover from 1973.
I used to love those little paper back books. It was always exciting to buy one to go along with your favorite programme.
