Hi.
Does anyone know if Ron Moody has anything in the pipeline at the moment? As far as I can find out one of the last things he did was `Moussaka and chips` in 2005.
Just wondering if he is still acting or has officially retired?
xx

Here's Ron in my favourite ever episode of Murder She Wrote: "Paint Me A Murder" - directed by our own John Llewellyn Moxey:
He's always been a favourite in our house - and IMVHO has never received the credit that he truly deserves.

I agree! He is one of our best British actors and deserves more recognition. He's always been a favourite in our house - and IMVHO has never received the credit that he truly deserves.

I remember him in tales of the unexpected as the wine conouseuir (sp?), a really good performance
Has anyone read any of his novels?

Greetings Faginsgirl,
Agree than Ron Moody never really received his kudos.
He enhanced many films that probably didn't really deserve his talents over the years. A great interviewee also...
One question.
I am still on the trail of his Royal Command Show appearance of the early 1990's where he gave a rousing performnace of 2 songs. "Got To Pick a Pocket Or Two" was one, I think, and the other was a majestic "Reviewing The Situation" which was fervently received.
Do you have any contacts I can talk to with a view to obtaining a copy of this on DVD?
Thanks and regards,
Edward G.

Hi Edward,
There are a few blogs on the web for RN that have`nt gotten off the ground yet so no info there. Hopefully the info about missing footage will appear in discussion there in time. I have the address of the people who deal with his fan mail etc, I guess at the minute if anyone knows where the footage is and if it is readily available they will.
I will send you the addi by pm.

Hi.
I have had two signed pics of Ron through the post today
One pic in his Fagin guise as I asked for and one of himself in real life.
He also replied on the letter I sent and has drawn me a fab Fagin sketch on it too!

For fans of Ron, he has just been working on `The lizard boy`.
If anyone finds anymore info about it can you post it please?![]()

Also did anyone see Ron in casualty earlier this year? It was such a sad storyline, but very good.

It's out of print but if you can find a copy of the video, "Five Golden Hours" is worth watching him in
I saw him a few years ago in that Oliver reunion programmes just before Jack Wild died and I thought he looked great.
He'll need to keep working with six children to support![]()
He could certainly give these two a few tips on playing Fagin

Must get round to watching that episode of Murder She Wrote
I adore Ron's performance as Fagin. Him and little Jack Wild - always raise a smile in our house.
Ron in `Taste` Tales of the Unexpected. For Edward G (and me LOL).

Brilliant - cheers Faginsgirl!
Let me see.
Hmmm. It's Agfa videotape. Yes, definitely Agfa.
1987 vintage.
The E180, French version.
From the eastern end of the warehouse....
Did anyone else go to Ron Moody's Platform at the NT? He was 'interviewed' by Ruth Leon but was allowed to wander off the point a bit too much. However once he was 'on' with various impressions of long gone Brits like Vic Oliver and Jack Hulbert, plus Hollywood stars like Dietrich and French ones like Chevalier and Jean-Louis Barrault he was fine. An entertaining 45 minutes in the Cottesloe black box theatre.
Terrific actor who IMO stole the show in Oliver! (and alongside Jack Wild and Oliver Reed that was no mean feat). I understand the sentiment that Ron has perhaps never really achieved the seal of approval to which he's entitled, but how much of this is down to choice, and does it really bother him anyway?
Actors' careers are largely defined by choices. The year after his smash success in Oliver!, Ron Moody was top of the list to succeed Patrick Troughton as television's Doctor Who. He turned the role down flat, apparently. Second on the list Jon Pertwee snapped up the part (after an initial bit of teasing a few free lunches out of the producer) because he "Wanted something which would take me into everyone's living room". Presumably Ron considered this small screen fame factor when he made his decision and I'd like to think he's never regretted it and is rightly proud of his career as it stands.
