Ok I know he isn't a British actor - but there is a fantastic interview with him in todays 'Weekend' Guardian that has some really interesting points for anyone to read. Some shocking insight in to the Bush administration and the cruelty of some of the US media.

Like a lot of girls of my age - had a crush on Michael J FOX as a fourteen year old and was truly shocked to learn that he had developed Parkinson's disease at 29.

What I particularly liked about Fox as a teen (and as is pointed out in this interview) was that he wasn't - ever - your typical heart throb - but he just had this fantastic spirit about him that people just loved. He could easily have stayed in Canada and thought, OK I'm 5'4, not text book good looking and I can't get any work. But he took himself off to Hollywood and persisted until he did find his niche. I found that admirable then and the way he has dealt with his parkinson's has been remarkable. Rather than hiding away - he has put it to tremendous good use.

Shocking to hear that the Bush administration would not put any money into funding for research in to Parkinsons. It is only really starting to him home what a terrible tragedy that man was for all of us.

But, anyway, well worth a read. I'm not, usually, in to celebs - but I have always thought that this chap has lessons that are worth learning for all of us.

Well Fox needed to "pull himself up by his bootstraps" and fix his own Parkinson's. Why would the Bush administration want to help sufferers of this disease when they were bzy saving the world in Iraq and combating the same sex marriage crisis at home?

Re: Fox the actor. He always brought a lot of energy and charisma to his roles, even if the films themselves weren't always great.

I have a soft spot for Doc Hollywood - a really enjoyable film.
