Many thanks Hugh for the upload, I think the video was originally transmitted on ITV, as part of the Unforgettable series... Please check my page "Re-Introducing Diana Dors" on Facebook for images of Dors....

Just a quick update, I am currently compiling a full and comprehensive film and tv - o - graphy on La Dors, her body of work is fascinating - but it is such a shame that alot of it is forgotten. It's good to see that network dvd have released series one of Just William, in which Diana played the role of Mrs Bott, and they released on 10th August the complete series of Queenies Castle. I would be interested to hear what your favorite Diana Dors film is? Also Mark O, I dig your picture of Sharon Tate - 40 years gone, she was a real beauty....

I think she was underrated as an actress, The eratz Marilyn Monroe schtick somewhat camoflaged her ability. She could do a flawless American accent. I bet Marilyn Monroe would never have been able to do a tolerable English accent. I think the main difference between Dors and Monroe and the less talented Mansfield was the latter two were better suited for comedy, while Dors was better at drama. I don't understand the point of trying to copy another actor. You can never get out from under their shadow.

I agree Will and that's why I would say that The Weak and the Wicked would be my favourite film on Sean's list - because it was the first time that she was given a chance to really show what she could do as an actress - and not just be a glamorous accessory to the film.

But that only went part of the way to showing what should do. For the full effect we had to wait for Yield to the Night (1956)

Although you shouldn't dismiss these actresses ability to do comedy roles. Actors often say that doing comedy well is harder than straight drama. But Dors could do the lot

But my favourite performance by Miss Fluck is still her one in The Sweeney episode "Messenger of the Gods". That's a superb piece of work from all concerned, but especially from Dors

She soon sorts out those fellers from the Flying Squad

Cheers for the feedback chaps, I recently got hold of a copy of Michael Winners under-rated "West 11", and I must say that Dors is excellant as the aging beauty unable to accept that she is the wrong side of 30. There's a famous story that the role of Brenda in the classic Saturday Night, Sunday Morning was originally for Dors, but on the advice of her agent and Dickie Dawson, she turned it down. I do believe that although the film is best remembered for Albert Finneys portrayl of Mr Seaton, had Diana played the role not only would have her body of work be better remembered but she would have given the role her all.

I also believe that her success in America has often been blighted by the incident that occurred in August 1957 - Dennis Hamilton - Swimming Pool - Photographer. I have several film magazines from the 60's and 70's and it seems to me that in the states her career was more successful than it has been given credit for.....

This is one thing I'm hoping that the new website will correct.......

(1970) Appeared in "Three Months Gone" at London's Duchess Theatre with Jill Bennett directed by Ronald Eyre.

The www is not much help as far as I can see. Your best bet may be to get hold of a copy of the biographies and autobiographies about her (there were quite a number) as those sort of books often have a glossary at the back with info on films/TV/theatre etc.

Which of her stage appearances do you already have listed? There was a Life with the Lyons stage show at Blackpool in 1952.

what an interesting article.....I was always lead to believe that the play recieved great notice, and Diana 's acting was highly praised even by Lord Olivier...... Does anybody on the forum possess any infomation on the never transmitted series

    The Unusual Miss Mulberry

    and

The Inquistors (The Peeling of Sweet P)

The unusual Miss Mulberry had six episodes filmed, I would be interested if there is anyone in the know who might know what happened to them or where they maybe stored......

Also was the play "Three Months Gone" ever televised, I know that it was filmed as there is a clip of it on Youtube - it would be interesting to see the whole play, and see Diana's performance

If it helps, Murder Mistaken co-starred Alan Lake and is the play that Cast a Dark Shadow is based on. It doesn't seem to have come into the West End (I can't find any reviews but you could check the 1975 issues of The Stage )

Hello! Today I recieved through the post a vintage magazine from 1965 containing an interview with Diana Dors. It was stated in the closing sentances that Diana was due to start filming "Life at the top", which was the follow up to "Room at the Top". As I know you are all film buffs on this forum, I'm sure most of you know that in the end Diana never appeared in the film, what I would like to know is why? and could anyone please provide me with the charachters name she was going to play......

Also in my quest I'm trying to track down details of the untransmitted "The Unusual Miss Mulberry" - it was filmed for Re-Diffusion in 1965, I think in total there had been 6 episodes filmed. If anyone can help I'll will be forever in your debt.

Also and finally I would really be interested in hearing from anyone eho may have worked with Diana in the past......Please get in contact!!!

    Thank you!!!

    Hello Folks

I'm hoping that some in Britmovie Land will be able help me out, as I'm sure most of you know I am developing a new website on Diana Dors, I have discovered that Dors appeared in two TV plays "A Taste Of Honey and The Misfit", I think they were on the BBC in the early 70's and I'm really hoping somebody maybe able to help me with infomation such as a synoposis and cast lists - any help would be greatly appriciated. Also does anyone have any info on "The unusual Miss Mulberry and The peeling of Sweet P (The Inquisitors)" now both these were untransmitted, so infomation will be rare, but if you can help please get in contact.

Finally I would be interested to hear from anyone who may have worked with Dors in either films, tv or in the Theatre, I would be grateful if you share your stories......

Apologises for the lateness of this snippett. 23rd October was the 78th Birthday of the British Blonde Bombshell herself, Diana Dors. The remembrances on my Facebook group page "Re-Introducing Diana Dors", still proves time and time again, how loved she still is, and how highly regarded she also is, and than she never really has been replaced....

The first time I saw Diana Dors on TV - this would have been about 1970 - was when she was a guest on The Golden Shot and the host, Bob Monkhouse, couldn't seem to take his eyes off her ample charms.
