I think The Boys (1962) is a great film.

Can anyone advise me on some good films which include/revolve around court room capers, you know clever barristers twisting things etc.
Thanks.

Other court-related favourites of mine are:
A Woman's Face (1941)
My Cousin Vinny (1992)
12 Angry Men (1957)
Eight O'Clock Walk (1954)

'12 angry men' is indeed a great film-jury antics rather than barristers but excellent!

If we are allowed television shows I suppose we could add the Hancock episodes Twelve Angry Men which parodies the Lumet film and The Lawyer!

Not a film I know but the TV Series Crown Court might be of interest

I remember this in its early days when it was shown of an afternoon - it had some great storylines and featured many well-known actors.
Other courtroom drama series I remember randomly are Shadow of the Noose about Edward Marshall Hall and the ITV series Lady Killers which originally covered famous female murderers and later men who murdered women.

And let's hear it for Leo McKern as Rumpole....
"Rumpole of the Bailey" (1978)
(Also, I recently got hold of the Network 'Special Edition' of Olivier's Richard III - and the bonus disc consisted of an early C4 "reconstruction" of The Trial of Richard III:
BFI | Film & TV Database | The TRIAL OF RICHARD III (1984)
Oh for the glory days of C4 when you'd get something like that for a whole evening - 225 minutes! - instead of Your 100 Best 3-D Get Me Out Of Celebrity Strictly X-factoring Relocation Dine With Me.... Oh, and this even had the young(ish) Dr David Starkey as an "expert witness". With a moustache. What more could you want, eh?)
QBVII which was a TV series and Witness for the Prosecution are very good courtroom drames
If you can track down any episodes of this:
"Misleading Cases" (1967)
then you'll be in for a legalistic treat (as I vaguely remember). And what a cast!
Hostile Witness directed and starring Ray Milland but our very own Silvia Sims out acted him absolutely![]()
Suspect with Cher,Inherit The Wind Spencer Tracy
There is also the 1959 film Libel starring Olivia de Havilland and Dirk Bogarde.
There is the comedy/drama film The Dock Brief from 1962 starring Richard Attenborough and Peter Sellers.
Also a whole host of Perry Mason TV Films.
There's a few Court scenes in 'Let him have it', a film full of character actors........
Ian Carmichael and Terry Thomas in Brothers in Law
Court Room scenes in the Franchise affair as well
12 Angry Men is an obvious choice (I am doing a modern version for theatre next year) I think Jagged Edge is an excellent court room thriller as well as an amazing film from the late Richard Marquand.
I also recall a British Television series sometime in the 80's which I believe was called 'The Jury' which followed the discussions in the Jury room over the charge of a rape case, it was quite a good series as I recalled. Ultimately the Jury couldn't decide so the judge said who would accept a majority verdict. I always remember two of the women wouldn't vote not guilty, and one of them was crying when the case was over.
I would be interested to know if anyone remembers that show....
The Verdict ... which features one of Paul Newman's best performances. Also, The Trials of Oscar Wilde.
There's two contrasting courtroom sections in Jim Sheridan's loose-with-the-facts-in-places but very powerful In The Name Of The Father (1993).
Also a short-but-surreal one in my favourite ever BritMovie, Performance (1968/1970) - with the great Allan Cuthbertson, a man who was born to play barristers....

Would dearly love to see this-the synopsis looks good!
