The death of Ian Carmichael reminded me of his portrayal of Bertie Wooster in the BBC series 'The World of Wodehouse'. Although (perhaps) a little too old for the part, he was an excellent foil for Dennis Price's smooth Jeeves.

I remember reading (can't remember where) that the BBC had lost(junked) every episode of the series, but for one. Can anyone confirm this?

That is the received wisdom - nobody has ever been able to confirm that any episodes other than The Delayed Exit of Eustace and Claude survive and certainly then the NFT had a Wodehouse season about 15 years ago they looked fairly hard for other episodes and couldn't find anything.
