I still go with the traditional classification. Hitchcock as "Suspence". Not horror.
He is called "The Master of Suspence".
IMO, when people strayed away from the tradional definitions of Horror, Sci-Fi, Suspence, Comedy, etc... it really screwed things up. Today many people put tags to films that to me make no sense. If someone says something funny in any film it gets tagged a comedy. If someone sings a song, a musical.
This "screwed up" result is apparent to anyone who goes to many websites that catalog movies and TV shows. You search for a comedy film and you get results that make no sense whatsoever. You have to rummage through horror films, sci-fi films, etc... to try and find what you are looking for. This results in many searches based on genre relatively useless.
