David Kossoff perhaps?
I am an admirer of the band of character actors we have had in the UK. One of the pleasures of pursuing our common interest is to watch an old program/film and identify the character actors as they go through their roles.
One particular actor I can not recall his name. He often appeared in TV comedies and farce as the very harassed Jewish style manager - boss - owner of an enterprise always the victim of circumstance. Funnier than Al fie Bass, bespectacled and with generous moustache, I think. Always clapping his hands to his head in horror as the situation around him collapses.
Most of his work on TV, I would guess, was live before video recording but there may be examples of his work. I am sure someone would know who he is and a few titles so I can pay my respects by researching his roles.
No I think he pre-dates him but thanks as I was trying to recall Al fie Bass' compatriot at the time. This character was not quite so 'arty' as those two.
Bill Fraser with Alfie Bass in BOOTSIE AND SNUDGE?
alfie was brill in series Till death us do part
Long shot - Alfred Marks?
This won't help Bernardo but I've just discovered that Alan 'Your 100 Best Tunes' Keith was David Kossoff's brother. That's a lot of toe-curlingness for one family![]()

Cyril Shaps
No to all so far. His style was that of Cyril Schapps, the incredulous innocent when the world around him is going mad type style with a stereotype Jewish style. I am off to check Martin Miller and see if I can give a play that he has appeared in and it was in the 50's remember and he was in his 50's then so on the edge of our memories.

The 'tache makes me wonder if it's someone like Mark Daly or a long shot, Andreas Malandrinos?
The hunt is on!! Can you think of any films or episodes he appeared in?
Tall? Short? Fat? Thin? Dark? Fair? Any other clues?

Martin Miller played Dr. Einstein in the 1966 revival of Arsenic and Old Lace, with Sibyl Thorndyke and Athene Seyler, which was a huge hit at the time.
A late night browse of the 'Who's Online' threads has reminded me of this one. Rather sad seeing the late John B_Toronto among the posters.
I don't think it was established who the actor in question might be. At the time, I thought of Martin Miller as well but reading the original description again I now wonder if Tigon Man was right in thinking the "generous moustache" belonged to Andreas Malandrinos?. This is from The Saint episode Locate and Destroy (1966):
