I have a still from a film relating to a quiz I am doing, it is of an athlete and officials at what appears to be a cross-country event. I'm not sure if I can attach a copy of this still to this question can I? However I can email it to anyone who might be able to assist in identifying the film from which it is taken. You can email me at bluetonecalling@yahoo.co.uk or leave your email address here and I will send you the still. Many thanks for your help.

Chariots of Fire? Could you not post a link to the picture or upload it to Imageshack or Photobucket and then post it here?

The athletics vest looks like an English one. He also looks like a hefty chap, the pic is fuzzy but could it be Bill Travers in Geordie ?

Yes, the person on the left looks like he's holding a hammer which wouldn't be much of an asset in cross-country running

I though "Geordie" as soon as I saw it!

The picture quality is definitely genuine 50s/60s - this isn't a period set 80s movie like Chariots.

Yes, if they win then Scottish (& Welsh) athletes are described as being British or even English.

It's only if they lose that they're described as being Scottish (or Welsh)

It could be considering the number of assaults on joggers these days!
