    Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone has ever come across a copy of the screenplay of Nigel Kneale's adaptation. I've been trying for years to find a copy to read. I've contacted the BFI who do not hold a copy but did put me in touch with Carlton through ITV who claimed that they did archive such things but then didn't ever get back to me. At least they answered the initial queries by phone and email though!

If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. I believe Kneale wrote it in ten days and would love to see how it reads.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

P.S - If anyone knows the location of the original Eel Marsh House - I would love to know where it is. I sourced other locations such as the causeway and the church used for Mrs. Drablow's funeral (I contributed this info to IMDB some years ago) but never ever found out where the house was. According the press pack it is in Essex somewhere? Yes, I even have a press pack for the original tv adaptation!

Thanks for the reply, JayCad. Yes, it's the screenplay itself I would love to read. I have the Canadian DVD release which I purchased before it was withdrawn. Thanks again. If I find out the mystery of Eel Marsh House, I shall let you know!

Thanks Popeye. It's a large enough house! Has to be somewhere! Need to dig out the press pack again. I am sure Adrian Rawlins mentioned that filming on the grounds of the house was quite a distance from the causeway.

    (according to wikipaedia)
The programme was filmed on Osea Island, near Goldhanger in Essex, the causeway being two miles away from the local salt marshes and the National Trust village of Lacock, near Chippenham, Wiltshire.
