Long ago I saw a short film about a little girl meeting opera singer Caruso in a train, I think it was part of a whole project including other shorts made by well known directors, it's B&W, american, maybe done in the 40s ...
Does anyone know this, and can help for the title ??
Thanks
Later: maybe this is more relevant to the Name that Film thread![]()

Hi Hugh
No it wasn't a documentary, it's a fictional stuff ... an actor interpretated Caruso IIRC
I looked on Wilkipedia, but no results ...![]()

I remember this as a short story in a Reader's Digest Book of Short Stories my grandmother had (if it wasn't published by Reader's Digest, my grandmother didn't have it). Sorry, that's no help...
It is very unlikely it is a movie short done by a well known director in the forties, It just wasn't done and that isn't an episode from an anthology movie. Perhaps it was a televsion series. There were half hour episode from Hal Roach with well known directors. I'll see if i can find out if that was an episode, probably not.
Apparently that was where it came from.

The Buster Keaton episode of Screen Director's Playhouse directed by George Marshall, The Silent Partner, is on youtube.
Scratch that. It is only a poor quality clip. But I got the whole episode over a decade ago on VHS, so some of these episodes are probably floating in the grey market.
