Renown, this week, have an offer with their main purchase of a free film:

    a. Her Favourite Husband
    b. Something In The City
    c. During One Night
    d. Clash By Night

What one should I not choose?
If something in the city is Michael Bentine's sandwich board man (not gone to IMDb yet) that would not be my first choice for one.

I watched Clash By Night recently and enjoyed it very much, especially seeing two Sherriffs of Nottingham together (on opposite sides of the law). And it's a rare starring role for the late Terence Longden. Her Favourite Husband is one of the few films of the period that I've actually given up on.

Something In The City is a Mr. Pastry film IIRC. I've always enjoyed Clash By Night as an effective enough little crime B and as Cap'n says, a nice starring spot for TL.

The Bentine film is THE SANDWICH MAN, BTW. One of my faves of the period; different strokes, as they say.... LOL

Are they meant to be the titles or just a description?

Something in the City (1950) is a comic caper with Richard "Mr Pastry" Hearne & Garry Marsh.

The others are all real film titles as well.

Renown are offering as this month's bargain buy a free film from a list of four with their recommendation . I could and did use IMDb but also I am using the forum to find from those who have seen the films to aid me in making a good choice. I thought I had seen Something in the city, clearly I have not. I am about to take Capt. Waggott's suggestion Clash by night as his views and choices on the forum often have coincided with mine.
