Broken Classical Hollywood tradition

I hope someone can help.

I need to find out how the director broke Classical Hollywood tradition and created a "New reality" in film language in these two movies.

1) 8 1/2 (1963 U.S - Fellini: Italian)
2)All about my Mother (Spain - 1999)

If possible can you also tell me what scene it happens in so I can learn what I am looking for?

I think the question is supposed to be a kind of satire of modern students. I mean, I hope it is.
