Thanks for the pic bruiser, lol, I didn't mention the fact that the two bikers shared a bed at Reg's Gran's because it was purely a platonic, matey arrangement, nothing was thought of it in those days, in the film 'Good time girl' starring Jean Kent three sisters (grown-up ones) share a bed, in the Leather boys it's obvious Pete fancies Reg but he won't overstep the mark because he knows it'll ruin their friendship if Reg knew the truth, and it does, at the end.
The Baked Beans only divorce, if only life were that simple
In the late fifties and early six's when the sex came on the camera drifted up to the window and in them days we thought "drat" Now i'm retired and they leave nothing to the imagination I'm now saying "Drat" why do they have to put all the details in !!!!! Really though do we have to go through every detail these days, it seems anything goes. I also find I can't stand the bad language ...............What would the likes of Margaret Rutherford and Alister Simm to name just two think of it today ?

Pretty sure Will Hay shared a bed with Claude Hulbert in one of his films?
The BBFC originally had a rule that prevented a couple from being seen in bed together even if married (one foot had to be always on the floor). The MPAA never had such a rule but used to tell their productions not to have such scenes as they would be cut in the UK.
This rule seem to have been abandoned soon after Arthur Watkins became BBFC secretary in 1948 (and particularly once Watkins introduced the 'X' cert in 1951) but I don't think it was common knowledge and filmmakers still used to think it existed well into the late 1950s.
In The Flesh and the Fiends (released in 1959) John Cairney and Billie Whitelaw have a fairly passionate bed scene in which there are no feet on the floor I think. This scene was cut for the US release of the film. I am sure there must be earlier examples. Hammer's Two Faces of Dr Jekyll (released in 1960) shows Paul Massie in bed with Norma Marla.
