Fascinating, can you remember if this was American or British? and to open this up wider, can anybody identify it?I remember seing a tv show,an episode of a supernatural/mystery series whose title I don't remember, where the crew of a modern day(70's or 80's) airliner flying to Berlin picked up conversations over the radio between World War 2 Raf Bomber crews.

Arh, magic. Thanks for that. I'll be sure to watch it.Might be Jaycad's earlier suggestion Return Flight, an episode from the 1972 BBC series Dead of Night. It is currently available on Youtube.

"No Highway", 1951. Not brilliant but very watchable and it has James Stewart, Marlene Dietrich, Glynis Johns, Jack Hawkins, Kenneth More... and Janette Scott in a juvenile role![]()
Another Stephen King one: The Night Flier (1997) Obscure, but pretty creepy!
Three of the original Twilight Zone series come to mind:
King Nine Will Not Return
The Odyssey of Flight 33
The Arrival
Arh yes, this is the stuff. I knew The Twilight Zone wouldn't let me down. You can always count on that series to come up with a plot/story that caters to your wishes. TV gold in my opinion. Thanks for the episode suggestions.King Nine Will Not Return
The Odyssey of Flight 33
The Arrival

An epsiode from season 1 of the ropey US or Canadian Psi Factor series features a ghost on a business charter flight.series isn't very good but this episode is one of the better ones.
"Destination Nightmare", an episode of the unbroadcast but readily-available series called THE VEIL, which is hosted by Boris Karloff, who also appears in the episode.
The Poirot episode "Death in the Clouds" should fit the bill.
I would suggest No Highway but I've not seen the film, only read the excellent book. Film details here:

I haven't seen it in a good while, but it used to show up regularly on the tube. What I remember most was Stewart had that lost puppy look and Dietrich looked like she wanted to jump in his lap and devour him. That isn't what the story was about, but that is the vibe they were bringing.
No Highway has been on tv twice recently, sure to be popping up again soon.
