I'd suggest Cone of Silence (1960), Poppy.
I'm hoping that this is one we can all sink our teeth into and I feel sure that there might already be a similar post, although I can't seem to locate one through the search procedure. I'm looking to compile a list of mystery/fantasy films and TV dramas, both British and American, that centre around aircrafts; whether they be commercial airliners or fighter jets. I'm not looking for the usual disaster scenario, but storylines in which mystery plays an integral part in the production.
I've made a start but I bow to the superior knowledge of the long established members of this board and would greatly welcome your suggestions. Thanks.

I'd suggest Cone of Silence (1960), Poppy.
Sole Survivor with William Shatner.
"The Plastic Eaters", the first episode of DOOMWATCH, features aeroplanes heavily, as does a later episode, "Flight into Yesterday".
The Last Reunion with Eric Portman
"The Ghost Of Flight 401".
A drama starring Ernest Borgnine and based on the real life crash of a Lockheed L1011 in the Everglades marsh in the USA.
Two episodes of Department S spring to mind - Six Days and One Of Our Aircraft Is Empty.
One of Our Aircraft is Missing (1942) - even though they are out of the aircraft for most of the film
The Sound Barrier (1952)

This is excellent chaps, I haven't heard of any of the forwarded suggestions. I'll be sure to look each and every one of them up.
Poppy.
Probably quite a few Star Trek episodes but the one that comes to mind is The 37's, Voyager's explanation of Amelia Earhart's disappearance

'The Haunted Airman'-loosely based on Dennis Wheatleys 'The Haunting of Toby Jugg'.
Doctor Who - Time-Flight. Uses Concorde. The other Who that centred around aircraft/airports was the Second Doctor's (Patrick Troughton) The Faceless Ones, sadly missing though one surviving episode is featured on the excellent Lost in Time boxset.
Also The Survivor with Jenny Agutter and Robert Powell, an Australian film directed by David Hemmings. (1981)
Powell's pilot is the sole survivor of a crash on take-off and as he falls under suspicion during the crash investigation, those exploiting the tragedy (most notably an unscrupulous photographer) start to die at the hands of the dead victims and Jenny Agutter's psychic tries to enlist his help in giving their spirits peace before the body count rises.
