Actor in The Cruel Sea

There is an actor in The Cruel Sea,of whom whenever I watch it,I try to catch his character's name,so that I can look him up on the IMDB. He came in about a third of the way through and he is one of the officers. I know Jack Hawkins,Donald Sinden,John Stratton,Denholm Elliot,but I cannt place this man's name. He was blond with a soft plummy voice.
