Gaumont - If you are really serious about this you will have to go to the British Newspaper Library at Colindale in north-west London. The relevant papers they keep are
Today's Cinema: News and Property Gazette 4 February 1928 - 8 November 1957 : Nos. 1-7900 Continued as: The Daily Cinema 11 November 1957 - 23 December 1968 : Nos. 7901-9616 Continued as: Today's Cinema 1 January 1969 - 13 November 1971 : Nos. 9617-9955 Continued as: Cinema TV Today 20 November 1971 - 30 August 1975 : Nos. 9956-10149 Then Screen International: The Paper of the Entertainment Industry London 6 September 1975- : No. 1- . There are loads of rules like you can only get 4 volumes out at a time if you pre-order and the hours are quite limited from 10:00 to 17:00 (although they start turfing you out at 16:30). You also need 2 forms of id including proof of address. PM me if you need to know more as I go up there all the time. Cheers Mr C |

That lets you select the country, the year or year range and things like genre or keywords, popularity and you can also get it to exclude TV shows Steve |
