Post The Smallest Show on Earth - Missing part ?

Perhaps this film has been mentioned before on this Site, but can anyone remember seeing a scene where the owner (thinks it a good idea) so therefore supports and helps the audience break up the seats of the Bijou. I know there is a similar sequence in the film 'All At Sea' released about the same time, but I can remember seeing the above scene on a TV broadcast version (Smallest Show on Earth) before about 1988. - All recent versions, including the DVD release - this bit seems to be missing.

Also, does the original Cinema Trailer still exist ?

Any comments to help clarify this part of the film, would be most wellcome.

No, IIRC isn't it to create a dance floor in All at Sea?

Yes, you're spot on as far as ALL AT SEA is concerned - the local teenyboppers help rip up, then renovate, the pier ballroom. Can't clearly recall the bit in SSOE though...

There wasn't any reason to rip out the seats in the Bijou. They were renovating the building and there was no audience participation. The audience wasn't let in until the place had the "Grand re-opening". The only thing that happened of a destructive nature, was the silver screen was torn, while Mr Quill (Peter Sellers) was supposed to be repairing it, whilst up a ladder!

As stated previously, the scene appears in "Barnacle Bill" (aka "All At Sea"), in the cinema on the pier.

If you think through the film, logically, that scene could not have appeared in "The Smallest Show on Earth"; what would they have put in place of the seats? I could hardly imagine the "punters" standing, as though they were at a football match!
