Default Max Wall

Anybody out there got a Max Wall filmography ? I suspect he appeared in more films than most of us think. All contributions gratefully accepted. Cheers to all.

Although not film related Max Wall had a show on Radio Luxembourg called 'Laughter in Court' in the 50's.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

I was fortunate enough to see Max Wall in a couple of shows up in the West End a few years before his death. He was a riot His Professor Wallofski was always the highlight of the show.He can be seen in a couple of Pathetone items on the British pathe website.

Mr. Max features in a number of large picture-spreads in some Fifties TV magazines I have. They feature him doing things in the 'Max Wall' style. One I recall was him learning to ice-skate.......... you can imagine!

I must admit I never thought of him as a movie man.

He also made a record for Polygon in 1952, which I have on mp3 if needed.

Should I call you Brief or Mr/mrs/ms.encounter - all new ones on me ! I don't have a MP3, I'm still playing records, But i'd appreciate an album title and track listing. He also recorded a single for Stiff Records: "Englands Glory" (written by Ian Dury and produced by Dave Edmunds) b/w "Dream Tobacco". I actually prefer the b-side.

I saw Max Wall once at Liverpool Stadium in about 1972 or 3 I think- a boxing hall, where they held pop concerts - and he was supporting Mott the Hoople as part of their 'rock 'n' roll circus' (jugglers, belly dancers and Max as the 'comic').

I only went to see Max, actually (never a big MTH fan) and he was great. Given a hard time by the Hoople fans, unfortunately, who threw a couple of bottles - which he quickly threw back - and set up a chant of 'We want Tommy Cooper' but he carried on like the pro he was and if he didn't quite win them round, he at least got a good round of applause when he had finished.
Saw him later coming down from the dressing rooms, still in his long underwear, to ask one of the bouncers for a light.

Oh, by the way, I have a recording of him on the Parkinson show singing 'Funny Man' from a one-man show (I think) he did about Buster Keaton in the 70s, if anyone is interested.
