Default Charles Bind

A post in the looking for thread alerted me to the fact that there are more Charles Bind secret agent movies than I'd previously thought.

As well as Tom Adams in:

Licensed to Kill (1965)
Where the Bullets Fly (1966)
O.K. Yevtushenko (1968) (unofficial entry)

There also seems to be a second trillogy:

No. 1 Of The Secret Service starring Nicky Henson
No. 1: Licensed To Love And Kill (1979) with Gareth Hunt
Number One Gun (1990) starring Michael Howe

Anybody especially like or hate these? Any other memories of these or other Bond rips? Who's your fave sub-Bond?

The Tom Adams character is called Charles Vine.

The first two Charles Vine films are watchable but the third one is rubbish.

The Henson and Hunt Bind films are also watchable but I haven't seen the Howe film.

My favourite sub-Bond is George Nader as Jerry Cotton.

I love them..I love all the cheesy 60s/70s spy movies and am hugely fond of Operation Kid Brother with Neil Connery.

I have the Howe film in English but alas with Greek subtitles if you want it.

"G-Man Jerry Cotton" is a German creation. He appears in hundreds of pulp novels by dozens of different (anonymous) writers. Eight films were made in the 60s with George Nader, four in b/w and four in colour. They are all extremely entertaining and have the most wonderful psychedelic jazz scores.

I quite like The Liquidator although its a wretched adaptation of the book.I find that I'm quite uncritical about this genre

No mention of the best-ever James Bond homage (and the one that does actually feature Charles Bind)

Charles Bind was the name of the hero in these epics too ...

Licensed to Love and Kill (1979) Played by Gareth Hunt
No. 1 of the Secret Service (1977) Played by Nicky Henson
Number One Gun (1990) Played by Michael Howe
