Actually, they do a bit of cruising but they also go 'cottaging'.

It gets very confusing because apparently in gayland at one time it could mean both available and taken........maybe it depends which finger (left or right)

Since I've never been too good at sorting my left from my right - I'd better avoid them.

Rings in general though - was a time most men didn't wear them, kinda ostentatious. Now wedding rings are very common.

Hankies in the backpocket? Couldn't it just mean a bad case of the sweet diarrhoea?

Dosen't the singer Bruce Springsteen have a Hanky hanging out of his Jeans pocket on the cover of the 'Born in the USA' Album?.........I think he does, but I don't recall the colour of his Hanky!

to be honest i have never noticed the rings on mcqueen or armstrong but i have noticed newmans ring but only remember it vaguely. he used to frequent one of my restaurant's in the late 80's and i always admired his watches and casual yet stylish way of dressing. he now co-owns a organic restaurant in town that my wife and i go to once a month, next time i go, if he is there, i will ask him about the ring if i see he is still wearing it.

Red, white, blue, with a few stars I expect.

Of course, being an American, his hanky would be hanging in front of his fanny.

Where to now? My love.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does the American term 'Fanny' refer to?.........I'm on hol in the States in September, so I'd better savvy up on a few slang words!

(I won't say what it means in Britain.........Ladies present!)

Isn't there a British colloquialism, "Stop fannying about"...... Or has that come to us via our Atlantic bretheren?

There is indeed.

I suspect, given the UK meaning of the word, that the colloquialism does indeed originate from the colonies.

I heard a few weeks ago that the colour of the nail varnish a girl is wearing now indicates how far she is willing to go (sexually not geographically). ?!

These made some good albums. I have three.... or is it four? All on vinyl. This cover isn't the British edition though.

From pinky rings to fanny. Pretty circular, if you ask me. Hmmm.

There's another thread on at the mo called "The Tunnel".
