I had never seen Fanfan La Tulipe until recently, when I got both the original b/w and the colourised version. I was aghast to find that, after a quick peek at both versions, I decided to watch it throughout in 'fake' colour ... the swashbuckling romp seemed to be so much more fun in lurid colour ... however, I am sure that most fans of the film would be horrified ...

On the whole, though, I wouldn't watch a colourised film except for a few seconds to see what had been done to it ...
