Default Ben Hur

I know it's an American film and it won 11 Oscars, but I forgot to tape it on Saturday. However, for my quiz research, how many laps were there in the chariot race and how long in minutes was it?

The lap counter was those gold fish being turned over after every circuit, was it five?. And say three minutes each time round so about a quarter of an hour from start to finish.

There were 9 laps in the race with the fish counter and each lap was about 90sec real time in the movie some laps were much longer than others.

When I was doing my degree in Communication Studies at the University of Sunderland, I read in some book that the chariot race sequence took three months to shoot, can anyone confirm this.

Yes. According to THE VIRGIN FILM GUIDE the chariot race took three months to film and lasted 20 minutes on the screen.
