I remember the short films shown on BBC2 in the late 60's and early 70's.

They were used to test the early colour television and were commisioned by BP
.
"Guiseppina" and "The home made car" (about a bull-nosed Morris) were my favourites.

I have a contact address and purchase details if anyone wants to buy them on Video.

Go here for the audio clips:

Can you help? There was an appeal on BBC 1 this morning from The National Archive people re. the Reginald Molehusband film. Apparently they don't know what happened to the film and are therefore desperate to track down a copy.

More info here:

BBC NEWS | Magazine | What happened to Reginald Molehusband?
was just about to point that out when I made my last post, imagine that loosssssssssing a treasure as that and I dont imagine thay will find a copy as who would record it at the time, reminds me of JRR Hartlys search for his book in the Yellow Pages ad, but then again I live in hope.

Do you reckon that’s a stylophone they are playing?
No it isn't - the stylophone wasn't invented until 3 years after Flying was recorded

My favourites were the one with the little boy running out in front of a car after going out to buy "More shoes" only to discover that the driver was "MY DAD, in a new car!"

The other featured Graham Stark helping a French trucker to reverse in Franglaise (Only formidable, that's all) only to discover that he was local "Thanks very much, Our Kid......Are there many of you French fellas in Sheffield?"

I got hold of the first one in the "Charley says..." dvd but who knows where the Graham Stark one has gone.

Does anyone remember the public information film about Reginald Mole, husband? It was about reversing a car into a slot between two cars by the kerb. Whenever I do the same thing,I still call it the Reginald Mole, husband.
Who played him? Now there's one for you!
Ta Ta
Marky B
He was played by Ian Gardiner. There's an article in our local paper about him. He lives in Morden
He was just paid a basic fee (£10 in 1960 is worth £150 today), with no repeat fees

He's done quite a lot over the years, but nothing else that brought him as much fame.
He was married to Janet Davies (Mrs Pike in Dad's Army) until her death in 1968.

So you mean she was already dead when Dad's Army started its first series?
