Default Night of the demon (1957)

I know that this classic film has been available for some time from the USA on DVD, but I did read somewhere that there was talk about releasing a 50th anniversary special edition, which was to feature a documentary and some additional special features. I think that the project was put on hold. Any news?

I have read the book on this classic, Beating The Devil The Making Of Night Of The Demon by Tony Earnshaw, and must say that it is essential reading for any fan of this film.

Hello Doctor, I too have read the excellent (but short!) book, and I'm waiting for a decent release here in Region 2. Extras would be great, but just the film on its own would do....

It was recently on BBC1, and it was the full uncut british version as opposed to the cut US version, The Curse of The Demon.

The DVD I have features both versions on the same disc.

The R2 disc was being distributed by DDHE, sadly they went into receivership a few months prior to release.

We've had a lot of stuff from DD video over the years. Recently we started receiving catalogues from 'Simply Home Entertainment' instead of the usual DD ones. So it looks like 'Simply' have picked up DD's stuff. I do hope Simply will press ahead with NotD.

Simply HE have picked up a lot of the DDHE stuff, but not all of it.
