The Scamp *solved*

I am struggling to remember the title of one of Dickie's films.
It has aired on TV a couple of times in the past.

I just know that the answer will be supplied by one of you out there.
He plays a guy who fosters (or at least gives a home to) a troublesome young boy, resisting the attempts of the authorities to take the youngster away to a bad boy's home. He desperately tries to coax the boy back onto the straight and narrow.

I've checked through his movies on IMDB, but none rings a bell.
I know his car was a Hillman Minx, which is why I'm trying to trace the movie.

Just spotted it's £2 cheaper at only £7.99 from blah.com and even cheaper at £5.99 from play.com (both free delivery) . . . . So 'play.com' it is!!
