Graham Faulkner
Does anyone have any info on what happened to Graham Faulkner?
He was the lead in the 1972 Movie Brother Sun and Sister Moon.
I have heard he is no longer in the industry.
I recently bought the DVD of the Film and forgot how much I enjoyed it the first time I viewed it years ago. It was a wonderful production about the legend of St Francis of Assisi. It was not a documentary on his life but looked at the spiritual transformation of his main character.
Franco Zifferelli ( forgive the spelling ) was trying to get on screen, in a visual medium, a spiritual event. He chose for his lead a beautiful young man who
portrayed the innocence and spiritual struggle of coming to terms with the Gospel and allowing it to impact his life. He could not have chosen a better vehicle. Graham Faulkner did a wonderful job. The director used a man with great outer beauty to portray his characters inner beauty of soul.
Yes, some of the reviewers (Neaderthrals) at the time panned him badly, not understanding the goal of the film. They have the soul of an amoeba.
Graham did a great job, and the film still succeeds to move one, even after the passage of time. Wherever he is, I hope Mr. Faulkner knows, and is proud, of his part in the production. He did a spectacular job. I, and many others, wish him well and thank him for a job very well done. YOU DONE GOOD GRAHAM !!
